PCB Fabrication Notes Checklist for Conflicting Files

FAQ
May the fabricator choose between different outlines in Gerber and a mechanical drawing? No. Release should stop until the data owner identifies the governing source and issues aligned files.
Every filename contains “final.” How can the latest package be identified? Use an explicit project revision, transmittal list, approval record and, where useful, checksums. “Final” and file timestamps are not engineering controls.
The drill output and hole table show different diameters. Can the larger value be used? Not by assumption. Values may refer to different manufacturing stages or functional intents. Their definitions must be reconciled in a new release.
Can a DFM recommendation be written directly into production data? Record its reason and scope, obtain approval from the agreed owner, and then incorporate it into a new revision. Retain the original, difference record and approved result.
